Annual Dinner 2009 « back
This most popular event was held on Friday, 13 February 2009 at Shiang Garden in Richmond with record breaking number of participants reaching a total of 121 members and their guests.
Before Dinner, a wine tasting session was arranged by Mission Hill Winery during which guests had chance to try several kinds of red wine as well as purchase their favourite with 10% discount plus free door-to-door delivery.
Every guest received a welcome package which consisted of a large paper clip, a piece of homemade chocolate and a well designed program; all carrying a sense of Spring. Moreover, 2 out of 3 guests got a share in the lucky draw as we had a total of 80 prizes, all of which were donated by our generous members.
While guests were still enjoying the dessert, Mr David Amos of Mission Hill Winery gave a 10-minutes talk on wine selection during which guests raised questions enthusiastically. The highlight of the dinner was brought by a 30-minutes performance by one of the most popular singers in town, Mr Newton Ng (小羅文). Mr Ng performed 10 songs with 2 encores while over 30 guests were so excited to join him as dancers on stage.
The dinner came to the end after drawing of 3 grand prizes donated by Rose Yeung, Sylvia Chok and Geraldine Lui respectively.
All members and their guests had an enjoyable evening and treasured meeting with fellow Paulinians sharing sweet memories of days of girlhoods.

Snowshoe 2009 « back
Snowshoe was held on Saturday, 7 March 2009 at Mt. Seymour. A total of 18 participants enjoyed this refreshing outdoor activity.
After fitting in the big snowshoes, all participants started the tour leaded by the Mt Seymour tour guide. We weaved through the alpine forest, around the lakes and crossed a variety of terrain in the snow covered forest. Learnt lots about the nature and at the same time had lots of fun and exercises. We walked with the snowshoe for about 1.5 hours, finished with a cup of steaming hot chocolate.
After the workout, we treated ourselves with Dim Sum at the Victoria Restaurant. The participants enjoyed this winter outdoor event and looked forward for the next winter to walk through the alpine again in the big snowshoe.

Carol Singing 2009 « back
This year, the carol singing for the seniors was held on Saturday, December 12. The three senior homes that we visited are Grace Seniors Home (天恩頤康院), Simon K.Y. Lee Seniors Care Home (李國賢護理安老院) and Villa Cathay Care Home (華宮安老院) in Vancouver.
It is "record breaking" for the number of carol singers (over 30) participated in making this event a BIG success. All participants have enjoyed a full day of happiness by sharing their time, talent and teamwork with the residents at the three Senior Homes.
The participants stayed at each home for about 45 minutes starting with 10 popular carols, followed by interactive games with the seniors and presentation to each of the seniors a small gift. The “old folks” enjoyed tremendously the songs and the company.
With the choir's number growing from strength to strength, we are fortunate to have Mr. Anthony Tam, who played the carols with the Violin and performed solo Schubert's Ave Maria. Another “first” for this year is the addition of a duet “O Holy Night” sang by a Paulinian and her sister.
